Motorized Skylight Blinds in Lebanon for Roof Windows and Glass Ceilings

Skylights and glass roofs bring valuable daylight into a space, but they can also create intense glare and heat. A standard hanging blind is not suitable for overhead or inclined glazing because the fabric must remain supported across the opening. Skylight blinds use guided hardware to keep the shade aligned as it moves.

Window & Wall supplies made-to-measure skylight shading for roof windows, atriums, stairwells, conservatories, verandas and horizontal or inclined glazed openings. Most systems are motorized because the blind is positioned above reach and may cover a large area.

Guided skylight systems

Depending on the application, the fabric may run within aluminium side channels, cable guides or a tensioned system designed for the selected angle. The guide type is determined by the roof pitch, frame spacing, required light control, available fixing surface and the direction in which the blind travels.

For large roof-glazing projects, the system may be divided into several blinds so each section remains within the permitted fabric, tube and motor dimensions. This also improves maintenance access and allows zones to be controlled independently.

Sunscreen and blackout fabrics

Sunscreen fabrics reduce direct glare and solar gain while allowing diffused daylight to enter. They suit living areas, atriums, offices and glazed circulation spaces. Blackout fabrics are used where stronger light reduction is required, such as bedrooms below roof windows or media rooms. Edge light can still depend on the guide and cassette design, so the expected result should be explained before production.

Motorization and controls

Motorized skylight blinds can be operated by remote, wall switch or compatible app. Several blinds can be grouped for simultaneous movement or separated into zones. A sun sensor can be used on selected systems to close the blinds when direct sunlight reaches a programmed level, reducing glare and helping limit overheating. Rain sensors apply to motorized opening roof windows or ventilation actuators, not normally to the blind itself.

Site survey and technical limits

Skylight systems require accurate measurement of the glazing opening, frame profile, slope, guide support, cassette position and access for installation. Electrical cabling should be planned early because the motor is often located at roof level or inside a ceiling detail. Maximum width, drop and area depend on the fabric, tube, guide system and motor torque, so we specify the product from complete dimensions and site conditions rather than from square metres alone.

Send architectural drawings, clear photographs, the glass dimensions and the roof angle when available. A technical survey is required before final production. Call or WhatsApp +961 76 759 875.

Frequently asked questions

Can a normal roller blind be installed on a skylight?

Not usually. A skylight blind needs guides or tension to prevent the fabric from sagging away from the glass.

Are skylight blinds always motorized?

Small roof windows may use manual systems, but motorization is recommended for large, high or frequently used installations.

Can skylight blinds reduce heat?

A suitable sunscreen fabric can reduce direct solar gain and glare, but the result depends on fabric colour, openness, glass type, orientation and whether the shading is internal or external.
